Biomechanics

  • Tissue Biomechanics – To measure the biomechanical properties such as the ultimate strength and stiffness of tissue in order to understand its functional role.
  • Repair/Healing – To measure the strength of repair and to understand the healing process.
  • Injury Mechanisms – To understand the injury mechanisms by comparing the loads applied to the tissue with its ultimate strength, and by analyzing joint movement and the function of various tissues, such as cartilage.
  • Surgical Techniques – To compare different surgical techniques or study the effectiveness of a surgical procedure, implant fixation etc.
