Assistant Teaching Professor and Senior Design Committee Chair

Jerry Dahlberg is an assistant teaching professor in the William States Lee College of Engineering. He currently teaches Manufacturing Systems (MEGR 2180) and serves as the Senior Design Committee Chair. As the Senior Design committee chair he oversees academic issues related to the multi-disciplinary senior design program and supports faculty that serve as project mentors. He works with the Director of the Industrial Solutions Laboratory (ISL) to oversee coordination, logistics, and infrastructure associated with the Senior Design Program and assigns students to teams; mentor teams and grade student work. Jerry works on numerous Veterans programs inside the College of Engineering and the Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science Department. He is also the faculty adviser for the UNC Charlotte High Powered Rocketry Club and the College of Engineering Student Launch Team, which competes at the NASA Student Launch Competition.
Prior to becoming a faculty member at UNC Charlotte, Jerry retired from U.S. Army after 20 years. While in the Army, he served in the Field Artillery and the Military Police. Sergeant First Class Dahlberg served in numerous locations throughout the world to include Ft. Riley KS, Ft. Benning GA, Nuremberg Germany, Vilseck Germany, Stuttgart Germany and Vicenza Italy. SFC Dahlberg is a decorated combat veteran with service in Iraq.
Upon his retired in 2010 and enrolled at UNC Charlotte in the B.S. Mechanical Engineering program in 2011. He completed his B.S.M.E in 2014, M.S.M.E in 2016 and Ph.D in 2018.
