Brett Tempest is an Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His research and academic expertise is in waste-sourced construction materials, sustainable design strategies and engineering for developing areas. Each of these areas is linked through its goal of providing greater resiliency in the design and provision of infrastructure systems locally and internationally. He completed his undergraduate degree in International Studies at UNC Chapel Hill and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering and Infrastructure and Environmental Systems at UNC Charlotte. Dr. Tempest is an avid gardener and novice bee keeper.
