Made an X-to-C run with Josh back in April, but we came up short. The wind strength was great, but the direction was wrong. The wind was from the southwest, forecast to switch to the west. It never went west. I checked the National Weather Service the next day and the average wind was 15 from the SSW, with puffs to 35 and a maximum puff of 44. I think we saw that maximum puff, which is a good excuse for us flipping up-side-down. We made the 6-mile run from X to C in 35 minutes, but then on the beat back we got battered. We were 20 minutes off the record when we got back up the lake, so we just bagged it and sailed in. Maybe next time.
